Open Access and Licensing Framework

At ScienceHood, we are committed to the principles of open access as outlined by the Budapest Open Access Initiative. We believe in making our articles freely accessible to everyone, promoting the dissemination of knowledge across the globe. To support this mission, we offer two types of publication licenses: an exclusive license and a non-exclusive license. Articles published under a non-exclusive license are made available through the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, which encourages broad distribution and reuse of our content.

For authors affiliated with the US Federal Government who are publishing work as part of their official duties, our licensing terms are specifically tailored to meet their unique requirements. Importantly, both the authors and their respective employers retain copyright ownership of their contributions. This structure allows for the free reuse of content under the applicable Creative Commons license while ensuring that original authors maintain control over their intellectual property rights.

All articles published in ScienceHood journals are governed by the Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY), a requirement for many leading biomedical research funders. During the submission process, authors must select one of our licensing options to proceed with publication. This policy not only guarantees that our publications reach a wide audience but also safeguards the rights of authors and encourages the reuse of significant scientific findings.
